About Us
Research Society of SKNMC, Pune was established in February 2018. As per the direction of Maharashtra university of health sciences ( circular MUHS/ URD/ 520/2017 dated 21/08/2017 ) and growing need for promoting quality research a group of enthusiastic faculty from the SKN medical has taken initiative and registered the society under society registration act 1860 with charity Commissioner of Pune.
The main objectives of the society are to promote Research related activities (CME’s/Conferences /Workshop’s) in the institute, to encourage undergraduate, post graduate students and faculty to undertake novel research projects, provision of pilot funds of up to Rs.50000/- to selected projects and to publish a medical journal of society.
In accordance the founder members of the society ( Dr. Leena Phadke, Dr. Shreepad Bhat, Dr. Bageshri Gagate, Dr Sanjay NAtu, Dr. Siddhi Kandeparkar and dr Renuka Ahankari, Dr Rajendra Bangal) have established first governing council under the able leadership of renound paediatrician and eminent research scientist Dr. Anand Pandit from KEM hospital ,Pune .
Objectives of society
Research related activities (CME’s/Conferences /Workshop’s) in the institute.
To encourage undergraduate, post graduate students and faculty to undertake novel research projects. ( The selected project will receive funding from Society . Amount decided is Maximum of 50000/-)
To publish a medical journal.

The entire faculty from Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical college and general hospital became the life members of the society. The post graduate and undergraduate students were offered the affiliate membership of the society. The Dean was made to be ex-officio member and vice president of the society. The Society retains its independence and freedom to choose the areas of work.
The society in order to fund the research undertaken by its members opted to raise the corpus through donations.
