Research is to see what everybody else has seen and think what nobody else has thought. Inspite of being such a large and diverse country with enormous population, we miserably lack in research and innovation. It seems, right from our childhood we have never been taught innovative thinking or thinking out of box.
I sincerely thank the management of SKNMCGH for giving me an opportunity to work as a secretary of research society.
My aim for 3years is not to find cure for cancer but nurture research ability in undergraduate and postgraduate students My aim would be to publish as many original articles as possible.
Christopher Columbus has said ”you can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.”

As Dean and as an Ex- officio Vice President of the research society it gives me dual pleasure to write message for the Research society of SKNMC, Pune. There is a growing need to sensitize students as well as medical faculty to undertake research projects of societal relevance as well as an mandatory requirements of Maharashtra University of Health science to have in-house Research society of medical institutions the Research Society of SKNMC, Pune was established in Feb 2018. I appreciate the efforts of all founder members of the society for formulating the structure and fundamental rules and regulations of the society. I sincerely wish sustained growth in research related activities as well as research enthusiasm in the faculty of SKNMC&GH towards the cherished goals of the society.
I sincerely thank the management and administration for giving me this opportunity to take the lead in establishing the Research Society of SKNMC, Pune. Medical Research is the backbone of the patient care. Fundamental, Clinical and community research are the three pillars. Brainstorming and discussion of ideas are the seeds and Dedication Perseverance and Hard work are fertilizers. With all these characters the medical faculty of, Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College and General Hospital Pune have registered Research Society of SKNMC, Pune in February 2018. The objectives are to inculcate research aptitude amongst faculty and the students, to provide platform for presentations during conferences, workshops and continued medical education organized by the research society. Furthermore to publish original research work and interesting cases in the multidisciplinary medical journal published by the society. For this endeavour I give my best wishes to all the members of society and hope that the society will grow and will reach to its peak of excellence in future.
